If you’re looking for a model that offers lots of packaging options, the FoodSaver 2-in-1 Vacuum Sealer is definitely worth considering. This model is a channel (or suction) type vacuum sealer that is fully automatic and includes an accessory port with a built-in handheld sealer. It’s price is comparable to competing models in this class, with the exception of the much more expensive Weston Pro-2300.

For versatility it can’t be beat. It can handle pre-cut bags and bag rolls, as well as zipper bags used for refrigerated foods that you want to seal and reseal often. For external sealing it works on jars and canisters, and you can even buy an optional Quick Marinator (sold separately).

One of the bestselling counter top models for home users is the higher end Weston Pro-2300 Vacuum Sealer. Since it isn’t brand new you’ll find plenty of feedback from hundreds of owners, and the vast majority of them strongly recommend this unit.

This model is a channel type vacuum sealer with a 15″ seal bar, which is the widest available in this class. It’s a heavy duty unit that offers great features such as the option for automatic or manual operation and a see-through lid to help you avoid wrinkled bags and bad seals.

This manufacturer specializes in sous vide cooking equipment, but that certainly isn’t the only use for the PolyScience 300 Series Chamber Vacuum Sealer. Marinate meat, infuse fruits, protect your keepsakes, or use it for any number of other cooking related or household tasks. Unlike its closest competitors, this model even has an external vacuum port for sealing canisters.

This chamber vacuum sealer has a dry piston pump that doesn’t require routine maintenance, and a large interior capacity that can accommodate gallon size bags. It handles solids and liquids equally well, and it offers control pre-sets and other features designed to make it convenient and easy to use. Read review…

It produces consistently reliable seals, works well with solids or liquids, and can run continuously without needing cool down time between bags.
