Details of the Cosori Voluntary Recall
Cosori has issued a voluntary recall of approximately 2,000,000 air fryers due to a safety hazard. These air fryers have been purchased in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The reason for the recall is explained on the company website as follows:
“After a thorough investigation, we determined that in extremely rare circumstances, the closed-end crimp connectors within the recalled air fryers – which are responsible for establishing electrical connections between certain wires – can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.”
As of February 28, 2023, this statement is published at recall.cosori.com.
If you bought one of the recalled air fryers, you may have received notification from the company from which you purchased your unit. Amazon has already emailed these notices.
The recall applies only to certain models. If you own a Cosori that has been recalled, you may be eligible for a replacement.
But What If…?
You probably have questions. I certainly did.
- What if my warranty has expired?
- What if I don’t still have my original receipt?
- What if my air fryer doesn’t even work any more?
Cosori already thought of all that for you. On that same recall.cosori.com page, scroll down a ways and you’ll see a “Frequently Asked Questions” section. It answers the three questions I mentioned above, plus it provides answers to 18 more questions you may have.
Be Safe – How To Check Your Air Fryer
The most important issue here is safety. As noted above, the affected models could pose a possible fire hazard.
Even if you have not received notice by mail or email you should check your air fryer to determine whether it is one of the affected models. It’s very easy to do.
To determine whether your model is included in this recall, go to recall.cosori.com. Select your country, and that will take you to a page that includes complete information about the recall.
Under “Recalled Models” you will see photos of the various air fryers in the recall. Below the photos are lists of the specific model numbers of all affected appliances.
To find your model number, unplug your air fryer and look on the bottom of the unit where you’ll find the manufacturer’s label.
I own one of the recalled Cosori’s, and my label looks like this:
After finding your model number, look for it on the Cosori Recall page. If your model number is not listed, then your air fryer is not one of the recalled models.
What To Do If Your Air Fryer Is a Recalled Model
If you do find your model number in the recall list:
- Stop using your air fryer immediately (and leave it unplugged).
- Scroll down the recall.cosori.com page to “Recall Registration Form”. Click the orange “Register” button to register for your replacement product.
Clicking that orange button will take you to a new page that provides step-by-step instructions on registering your product for the recall process. Registration is not complicated but does require a number of steps. However, the process is very well written and organized and explains everything so it is easily understood.
If by chance you do need help, you’ll find the phone number for a toll-free hotline that you can call to ask for help or get your questions answered. This hotline is available Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm EST.

Do I still recommend Cosori, even after this recall?
You bet! You may not agree with me, but I explain exactly why I’m still a huge fan of this manufacturer in my updated Cosori review. See it here:
Of course, I’m also still extremely loyal to Philips because the ones I own have held up to extreme use (almost to the point of abuse!) for so many years now. If the recall makes you nervous, check out my review of the extra large Philips model here:
